Dr. Margo Thomas is the founder and president of the Women's Economic Imperative (WEI), an organization that aims to conquer economic gender disparity around the world by creating initiatives that promote economic opportunities for women and underrepresented groups.

Dr Margo Thomas' areas of expertise include policy advice to governments, trade and competitiveness, business environment reform, regulatory reform, investment policy and women's economic empowerment. Dr Thomas has a strong background in leading development initiatives and holds a PhD in Public Policy and Private Sector Development from the University of Manchester. She has also held key roles such as Head of Secretariat of the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Co-Chair of various Think 20 Task Forces on Economic Gender Equality and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
